I have signed the contract, so it's really-o truly-o official. Those of you who read Tales from the House Band Volume 1 read "Ragnarok and Roll," a story featuring a young woman named Cassie Zukav, a young woman who works as a scuba diver in Key West, Florida, and is also a bit of a weirdness magnet. She's a Dís, a Norse fate goddess, which she finds out in "Ragnarok and Roll," and gets to deal with all kinds of nonsense.

Deb Grabien of Plus One Press liked the story so much that she asked for more -- specifically for a collection of short stories featuring Ms. Zukav.

I've written three other stories with Cassie -- one appeared in Urban Nightmares back in 1997, and it's kind of a prequel, the other two will appear in Tales from the House Band Volume 2 and Bad-Ass Faeries 4: It's Elemental.

And all four of those, as well as a bunch more urban fantasy tales, will be appearing in Ragnarok and Roll: Tales of Cassie Zukav, Weirdness Magnet, which will be published by Plus One Press in the spring of 2013, if all holds true.

I'm very chuffed about this -- Cassie has become a favorite character, and I'm looking forward to writing more of her adventures in my second-favorite city in the world, Key West. :)
