Dragon*Con 2012 has released the PDF of their pocket program, so now I can update my schedule for the con pretty darned thoroughly.....
Friday10am-12.30pm: Film Festival Screening:
Backyard Blockbusters (Film Festival & Film Track) -- I'm in this documentary by John Hudgens about fan films, having been interviewed by John for it the last time I was at Dragon*Con three years ago, and I'll be part of the screening of same (Hyatt--The Learning Center) -- with David Gerrold, Chris Gore, and (obviously) John Hudgens
2.30-3.30pm: "Vampocalypse Now" (Horror & Dark Fantasy) -- expect us to talk about
V-Wars a lot, since three of the contributors are on the panel, but we'll probably talk about other vampiric things, too (Hyatt--Embassy A/B) -- with Clay Griffith, Nancy Holder, Jonathan Maberry, and James R. Tuck
4-5pm: "Weird, Amazing, Psychotic Life: The
Farscape Cast Reunion" (American Sci-Fi Classics) -- I'm MC'ing this panel that will feature all the
Farscape actor guests at the con (Hyatt--International South) -- with Gigi Edgley, David Franklin, Virginia Hey, and Rebecca Riggs
7-8pm: "Showcase: Keith R.A. DeCandido" (SF & Fantasy Lit) -- me babbling for an hour; be afraid, be very afraid (Hyatt--Greenbriar)
10-11pm: "
Farscape Fan Forum" (American Sci-Fi Classics) -- I'll be the ringleader for a general look back at
Farscape (Marriott--A703)
Saturday11.30am-12.30pm: "Media Tie-in Novels: Art or Commerce?" (Main Programming) -- a look at tie-ins in a joint panel with
Chicon 7, the 70th World Science Fiction Convention, where participants and audience from both cons will be linked digitally (Hyatt--Regency V) -- with Peter David and Mike Stackpole at Dragon*Con and Richard Lee Byers, Tom Dowd, Matt Forbeck, and Joe Haldeman at WorldCon
1-2pm: "Science Fiction--The Real Thing" (Writers Track) -- discussion of the different types of SF (Hyatt--Embassy D/F) -- with Kevin R. Grazier, Gary Kim Hayes, Dan Jolley, Van Allen Plexico, John Ringo, and Timothy Zahn
2.30-3.30pm: reading -- probably from the
Leverage novel, and possibly some other stuff (Hyatt--Marietta)
4-5pm: autographing -- I will have stuff for sale, in addition to being available to scribble on stuff (Marriott--M301-M304)
4-7.30pm: Parsec Awards (Podcasting)-- I will be one of the many many presenters for this podcast award ceremony (I won't be arriving until after my autographing, obviously, but I'm going to be presenting one of the final awards of the evening alongside fellow
HG World cast member Veronica Giguere) (Hyatt--International Ballroom North)
Sunday11.30am-12.30pm: "
Star Trek: The Expanded Universe" (Trek Track) -- discussing
Trek tie-ins (Sheraton--Athens)
8.30-9.30pm: "Original Blood: Vampires in 1970s & 1980s TV & Movies" (American Sci-Fi Classics) -- this one's gonna be fun... (Marriott--A703) -- with Jonathan Maberry
My guess is that I'll be spending Monday shuffling through the convention muttering, "Braaaaaaaaaaaains.........." until it's time to go to the airport...
