Back around Labor Day, I sent a pitch for a tie-in novel. I was told in person by the editor in October that they'd be getting back to me within the week. It's now February, and I'm still waiting to hear from this editor.
Back in 2011, me and two other authors pitched a six-book tie-in novel series. The editor loves it, but it's two-and-a-half years later and we still
haven't heard from the licensor about it.
Thirteen days ago, an editor approached me via e-mail about a tie-in project. Today I have a plot that the licensor has approved (and that includes one round of revisions) and a verbal deal for the book, with a contract to come soon.
Thirteen days, five months, two-and-a-half years. Silly silly business, this....
