Yesterday was a bit crazy, as I got up at 5am to drive people to the airport, then crashed, then did tax stuff, then did a talk about Housing Works Books and Café on writing media tie-ins, then came home and viewed the DS9
episode "Homefront," and did the episode writeup for the rewatch. I'm writing the rest of the rewatch now.
Oddly, I feel like I didn't get anything done today. *sigh*
The talk went extremely well. We got a crowd of about a dozen or so, and they seemed genuinely interested in what David Mack, Ginjer Buchanan, and I had to say about the process of creating tie-ins. We did a lot of revealing of how the sausage is made, particularly when moderator Cici James asked us what our worst experiences were.
Housing Works recorded the event, so I'm hoping to have it as a Chronic Rift
Roundtable episode at some point.
Today I have to finish the rewatch and get through an editorial job. Tomorrow, I've got fun social obligations, and then the weekend is to be spent doing the remaining editing that has to get off my plate so I can start writing the new tie-in project. Oh, and I'm having lunch with Laura Anne Gilman to work out a game plan for the writing workshop we're teaching next weekend. Wheeeee!
