Fox has approved my proposal for Buffy the Vampire Slayer: The Deathless. This is more traditional Buffy fare, a third-season adventure that involves Ring Day at Sunnydale High School and the arrival of several people from Russian folklore, including Koschei the Deathless and Baba Yaga.
The book is scheduled for spring 2007, and it's what I'll be diving into once Dark Forces is done....

Obviously, with Buffy there's no big post-series series like various Treks have had—all we have is Queen of the Slayers, such as it was. But is there any effort to tie together the books set during the show, or are those all one-shots like we had during the series' run?
And hey, there you go. The entire Whedonverse is tied into the Tommy Westphal brain thing, and you've got access to that license! Go ahead, bring Munch and the other folks from Baltimore into the novel! :-)
Hang on, how's the Buffyverse connected to Tommy's brain? I know how Munch is part of it -- two different St. Elsewhere characters appeared on Homicide -- but how's Sunnydale fit in?
I usually am not into books, but I heard about this on Whedonesque and I think I will chack it out when it's published, since I love slavic folklore. Baba Yaga is sooo creepy! Will it have Oh, the Tsar of the Forest as well? And Rusalky?
Ever since I announced this book, all the Russian folklore geeks have just come out of the woodwork... *laughs*
Probably just gonna stick with Koschei and Yaga. Keep in mind, I also need to find room for Buffy, Angel, Xander, Willow, Giles, Oz, Cordelia, Principal Snyder, and possibly also Faith and Wesley. *grin*
