belts

When I was a white belt, after class was over, I'd put my gi in the laundry bag and hang up my belt (which should never be washed) on the curtain rod in the bedroom. That quickly became the formal resting place for the belts, and now the brown belt has joined the white, blue, yellow, and green ones:



It's a nice little visual symbol of my progress as a karateka.

(And we've even got a bunny to keep an eye on the belts when I'm not around.....)
