Anyhow, I wandered the dealers room with Andrew Harris, and we both found ourselves spending money on silly but fun things. In my case, I got one of the Peter Pan Records "Book & Record" sets, in this case a 33 1/3 RPM record that came with two comic books. I didn't know they made those -- I knew about the 45 RPM records that came with one comic book, but this was much cooler. The stories are "A Mirror for Futility" and "The Time Stealer" (I already have "The Crier in Emptiness" in 45). Here's an image of the cover, thanks to the mighty Curt Danhauser.
Looking at the comic, it's fairly obvious that Neal Adams did the pencils (with someone else doing awful inks) on "Futility," and no one will ever convince me that anyone other than John Buscema pencilled "Time." (Nobody else draws faces like that, and besides, the character of Konrac looks exactly like Buscema's Conan....)
I'm such a geek....
Anyhow, I also got to meet Brent Spiner and John "Bones" Rodriguez (author of Captain Kirk's Guide to Women), got to catch up with Chase Masterson and Max Grodénchik, and got to hang out with my buddy Tammy and her fellow security minions.
Fun stuff.
