Copy editors generally are wonderful people. I'd say about 95% of the time, they do exactly what they're supposed to do, which is make sure the writing is tight and consistent and accurate and what it should be. It's the technical, nuts-and-bolts editing that every book really needs.

Sadly, the copy editor for A Gutted World falls into the wrong five percent. *snarl* I'm writing "STET" all over the goddamn thing. ("Stet" is Latin for "let it stand," and is what you write when you want to reverse an edit.)
