BELGIAN DRINKING LEGENDS
In the 18th century, it was said that Belgian laborers spent a quarter of their wages on drink--on ordinary days, they took six drams, on festal days more. These drams were named:
The Worm-killer | 5.30am |
The Eye-opener | 8am |
The Whip | 11am |
The Digester | 2pm |
The Soldier | 5pm |
The Finisher | 7.30pm |
