a belated bravo to Captain Sullenberger!

As most of you probably know by now, a US Airways jet with 155 people on board had to make an emergency water landing when both engines lost power, apparently due to a flock of geese getting in the intake. Regardless of the cause, Chesley B. Sullenberger III, the plane's pilot, managed to land the plane safely in the Hudson River, away from populated areas, but close enough for rescue. Everybody survived, and injuries were amazingly minor.

People talk blithely about heroes a lot, and certainly writers of adventure fiction like myself do. This, ladies and gentlemen, is a hero. Bravo, Captain.
