how to become a Republican
With thanks to scavgraphics, a primer on how to become a current Republican.

(I added the adjective because I maintain that the current administration only bears a passing resemblance to the Republican party that I was previously familiar with, and I keep hoping that the moderate wing of the party will wrest control of it back someday. That is, I fear, a forlorn hope, but I like to live the life of a cockeyed optimist...)

Current Mood: amused amused
Current Music: "Pass the Hatchet" from the Desperado soundtrack

I'm hoping -hoping- that George W. Bush's particular blend of everyman charisma mixed with his seemingly-sincere born-again Christian worldview is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for the religious right. I don't think the Republicans or Democrats have much chance of finding someone that can walk the line between being creepily religious enough to bring out the hardcore conservative Christians while still coming off as "normal" enough to appeal to the more mainstream voters as well as Bush has.

I'm a wishful thinker.

unfortunaly, you'll only see that on The West Wing Where supermoderate Alan Alda gets the nomination over relgious right Dan Davis... so likely the whole campaign was NID plot.
