I find the LJ "strike" that many are indulging in to be kind of pointless. For one thing, a strike is workers ceasing to do their work in order to affect the ability of who they work for to function. Since we don't actually
work for LJ, it isn't really a strike. It's more of a boycott.
For another thing, what is being protested here? That LJ needs money in order to function? A revelation, that ain't, and if they can't afford to keep giving away accounts for free because LJ is too darn popular and they need to keep it going -- well, that's capitalism, really.
Sure, it was handled badly. What else is new? But I don't see what good this boycott is going to accomplish. *shrug*
