groucho

amusement at NYPL

girasole and I are in the main reading room of the New York Public Library, tippity-tapping away on our laptops. I'm putting the finishing touches on my comics script, she's farting around online.

On our way in, there was a sign on Room 315, where the exhibits are held, which is closed for the summer. Said room houses, among other things, the original stuffed animals that were the inspiration for A.A. Milne's Winnie the Pooh stories and a Gutenberg Bible.

The sign read:

Winnie-the-Pooh and his pals have gone on vacation and taken the Gutenberg Bible to read at the beach. They will return in the fall.
