Finally got StarCraft: Ghost: Spectres started last night. Only wrote 1623 words, but time was spent doing some detailed research and choreographing the scene in my head (it's a big fight between Nova and some Zerg). I intend to do much more today.
In a move that surprises nobody, it looks like CC Sabathia will be a Yankee for the next several years. Now they just have to sign Andy Pettitte and one of the other three available pitchers (Derek Lowe, A.J. Burnett, or Ben Sheets -- I've listed them in order of my own preference), and I'll feel a lot better about 2009. There are some other bits and pieces that may need adjustment, but I'm less concerned about that. Frontline starting is what the Yankees haven't had since 2003, and, not coincidentally, that was also the last time they made the World Series. A rotation of CC Sabathia, Chien-Ming Wang, Andy Pettitte, one of the three I mentioned, and Joba Chamberlain, with a reserve starter from among the many kids they've got (My Man Phil Hughes, Ian Kennedy, Alberto Aceves) when the inevitable injury hits would be the best rotation since the days of Pettitte, Clemens, Cone, Key, Mussina, Wells, El Duque, et al.
A very good friend of the Godmommy, and of the rest of the family, too, Sue Cunningham has succumbed to the cancer that she's been fighting for many years now.
Rest in peace, my friend.
The comic book proposal has met with approval from two of the three people who have to approve it. The third person is actually the license-holder, but I can't imagine they'll have too much trouble with it. I'll announce that as soon as it's approved and, y'know, they let me. *grin*
However, the tie-in novel proposal I did over the weekend -- and which I honestly didn't expect so fast a reply on -- was rejected. Poopie.
