Monday at Arisia

Well, we're not actually at Arisia, but we'll be there shortly. There'll be more Hot Chicks with Books selling, plus interviewing mabfan for The Chronic Rift, then heading home, dropping saraphina_marie off at Logan on the way. It's been a fun con! Many books have been sold. Panels have been done. Readings have been read. All is well.

The Bob Larkin Project

Reprinted from the Coming Attractions pulp fiction web site. Bob's an old buddy of mine from the Byron Preiss days, and he's one of the good guys.

The Bob Larkin Project - Doc Savage artist fundraiser!

The wife of long time fantasy art master Bob Larkin has been fighting a battle with cancer for a few years. As Bob is her primary care giver, he has understandably cut back his work load during the period of her recovery. So that Bob can concentrate on the priorities in his life, a series of fundraisers are being developed to help him out in this time of need.

The first project is a signed bookplate edition of The Savage Art of Bob Larkin. This full color over-sized trade paperback features paintings spanning his 30 plus year career. 14 Doc Savage paintings are included over 7 pages including two rarely seen commission pieces.

There will be two different editions available. A signed bookplate edition featuring either Doc Savage or The Rook for $30.00 each. The deluxe edition will have an original 2 ½” x 3 ½” head sketch of Doc Savage by Bob and is priced at $60.00. 100% of all profits from the sale of these books will go directly to Bob.

Media Mail postage is $6.00 for one book and $1.00 for each additional copy up to three.
Priority Mail is $10.00 for the first copy with an additional $2.00 per copy up to three.
Foreign buyers, please email for a postage quote.
Payment is accepted via Paypal at docsavagefan@yahoo.com
Or you can send a check or money order to:

home again, home again...

...jiggety jig.

Made it home fine, despite some snow flurries in Connecticut and Westchester County. We are now settled in at home and the cats are very happy to see us. (Thanks to The Cuz for taking care of them while we were gone.)

Now to catch up on stuff....

BACON SANDWICHES

In 2007, scientists at Leeds University, UK, developed a formula for the "perfect" bacon butty. The ideal sandwich is two to three rashers of back bacon, cooked under a preheated grill for seven minutes at 240 degrees C, which are then places between two slices of farmhouse bread...1-2 cm thick.
