Today is our cat Marcus's 17th birthday. terri_osborne first got him in 1992 when he was only a few weeks old and could fit in her hand. He came into my life when Terri moved in with me in 2001, and I love the big galoot. Sometimes, he even loves me, too. (He's his mother's cat, truly.) He's slowed down some, and the diabetes got him this past year, but he's still going strong.
There's a guy here in the Starbucks (where I continue to slave away at Spectres) who has a chess board out. He's been asking folks who come in if they want to play.
So far only one person has taken him up on it in the 45 minutes I've been here, and the guy wiped the floor with him in about a dozen moves or so. *laughs*
(I declined the offer, citing both deadline and the fact that I haven't played chess in at least 15 years.....)
