THE THREE JEWELS OF JAINISM

To achieve the goal of the liberation o f the soul, Jains attempt to live by the tripartite rules of their ethical code. The "three jewels" of Jain ethics are as follows:

SAMYAK DARSHANA (right perception)--attempting to perceive the truth clearly without being swayed by superstition or prejudice

SAMYAK JNANA (right knowledge)--having accurate knowledge of the universe and scripture, and the mental attitude to use this knowledge

SAMYAK CHARITRA (right conduct)--to live according to Jain ethics, and avoid doing any harm to other living creatures

The thing with high-tech is that you always end up using scissors.

Two nifty new comics are out today from my good buddies at BOOM! Studios that I just have to mention. The first is the first issue of a new regular Muppet Show comic book, written and drawn by Roger Langridge. The other is the first book in BOOM!'s new set of comics based on Pixar properties, The Incredibles: Family Matters written by Mark Waid and drawn by Marcio Takara.

Comic Book Resources has preview pages from both up on the web: click here for the Muppets and click here for the Incredibles.
