Old schoolers should enjoy the return of Kang as he moves through time expanding on the origin of a Klingon quotable. Newbies should enjoy this taste of Klingons. Me, I enjoyed it, and deeply feel that if this team is not given the opportunity to do other works for IDW that Sto-Vo-Kor be denied to everyone at IDW. So there, nyah, nyah, nyah.
I'm still undecided what I want from a first issue in general, torn between exposition and an attention-grabbing incident worthy of a Bond film opener. Here we have something between the two that more sets a tone that's fun, not too serious, and wholly enjoyable.

THE WONDERLIC TEST
Developed in the 1930s by the industrial psychologist Eldon F. Wonderlic, the Wonderlic Personnel Test is used by recruiters, employers, and the NFL to measure cognitive ability. The 12-minute, 50-question exam has been used by the league since the 1970s, and is administered to potential draftees during teh annual Indianapolis Scouting Combine. According to the Wonderlic website, the test can forecast a player's ability to learn the playbook, work with a team, and adapt on the field. The average individual score is said to be 21; the average NFL player's score is reportedly 19 (a score of 20 correlates to an IQ of 100).
In science the credit goes to the man who convinces the world, not to the man to whom the idea first occurs. Francis Darwin (1848-1925)
So barring a fast-turnaround novel contract fairly soon (which isn't out of the realm of possibility), and with the bumping of StarCraft: Ghost Spectres to summer 2010, it looks like I will only have two novels released this year, which will be my lowest total in a calendar year since 2002, when I also had only two. I'm more than making up for it with 22 regular comic books and one manga volume, plus the usual mess o' short stories 'n' things, but it's weird to have so few novels out. (Amusingly, though, I already have two scheduled for 2010...)
