I hate UPS right now

They were supposed to deliver terri_osborne's new air conditioner yesterday. So I sat at home all day, missing lunch with friends, and when it was time to go to karate, 222sheridan was home upstairs, so we were covered.

But it never fucking showed up.

Meanwhile, my AC, which was ordered only a few hours later, still doesn't have a delivery date on the UPS web site. Of course, Terri's does, and they blew it.

I'm not going to be home for about an hour while I go see the shrink, and I just know the fuckers will try to deliver it then.....

UPS finally showed up!

terri_osborne's AC has been delivered safe and sound.

Amusingly? It didn't get delivered yesterday because, according to UPS's web site, the item was "missed" in the delivery warehouse, which raises the question of how one could possibly miss an 89-pound air conditioner.

Now I just need mine to show up..............................

IPODS OF THE FIRST COUPLES

Presidential media adviser Mark McKinnon revealed in 2005 that George W. Bush enjoys listening to his iPod (dubbed "iPod One") while mountain biking around his Texas ranch. His favorite songs were "(You're So Square) Baby, I Don't Care" by Joni Mitchell; "Brown-Eyed Girl" by Van Morrison; "Say It Ain't So" by The Thrills; "Centerfield" by John Fogerty; "Circle Back" by John Hiatt; and "My Sharona" by The Knack. McKinnon stressed that "no one should psychoanalyze the song selection--it's music to get over the next hill." Laura Bush confessed that she preferred Tina Turner and Dolly Parton on her iPod, and said she particularly enjoyed listening to Parton's epic rendition of "Stairway to Heaven."

In May 2006, Hillary Clinton said her iPod featured a "smorgasbord" of '60s and '70s tunes, including Aretha Franklin's "Respect," the Beatles' "Hey Jude," and "Take It to the Limit" by the Eagles.
