TRADITIONAL ETIQUETTE OF EATING #4

LETTUCE--leaves should not be cut, but folded up with a fork and then lifted to the mouth. In the event of these being too large for this treatment, they should be broken into suitable pieces with the fork.

NAPKINS--are laid on the lap, and, when finished with, are not folded up unless one is a guest for a few days; on all other occasions they are left unfolded. A good plan is to follow the example of the hostess.

OLIVES--are eaten with the fingers.

ORANGES--if served in divided sections, sweetened, and with the seeds removed, should be eaten with the fork. If served whole, cut into suitable portions. Remove seeds and skin.

PEACHES--should be quartered and the quarters peeled, then taken up by the fingers and eaten.

There is no love sincerer than the love of food.

general updatery

Never did do an irons in the fire for 1 October, did I? Sigh.

I'll be sure to do one next week for the start of November.

Right now, I'm in Revision Hell -- or, at least, Revision Purgatory, doing new drafts of StarCraft: Ghost: Spectres (almost done), Farscape: D'Argo's Quest #3 (just finished this afternoon), and Supernatural: Heart of the Dragon (starting tomorrow).

Once that's done, and I'm back on track with the Farscape scripts, the plan is to revise the mystery proposal per agent's notes and get that to her, and then work on the urban fantasy until such a time as more work becomes real.....
