Stupid History 4 May 2010

We've all heard of London's famous Big Ben--but what is it? Is it the clock? Is it the tower? Nope, it's neither. Big Ben is the name for the thirteen-and-a-half-ton bell inside the clock tower. It was cast in 1858 and named in honor of Sir Benjamin Hall, who served as Commissioner of Works when the bell was installed.

The Chronic Rift In Review: Now in 3D!

The latest review episode is online, and it's a doozy. First the gang brings a bunch of stuff to the table, including the HBO series Treme, The Big Book of Barry Ween, Boy Genius by Judd Winnick, 3D movies, and the Nerdist Podcast.

And then there's the reviews:

"A Case for Books" -- Andrea reviews Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter by Seth Grahame-Smith.
"The Comics Curmudgeon" -- Steven does a roundup of stuff, including the latest Justice League DVD release.
"Couch Potato Salad" -- I review the new season of Doctor Who (followed by copious commentary on same by the rest of the gang).
"Pop Fiendish" -- Orenthal discusses the trappings of celebrity and the notoriety it brings.

You can download the episode from iTunes, the Rift web site, or Mevio's Rift page. Comment on the forums, or leave a message at 888-866-9010.
