Stupid History 20 May 2010

The Pacific Gas & Electric Company was on trial in Nevada City, California in 2000 charged with "failing to trim vegetation around power lines." The trial was delayed for more than thirty minutes when the power to the town was accidentally cut off--a tree branch had fallen and knocked down a power line.

pop culture anniversaries

Today is the 30th anniversary of the release of Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back and the 25th anniversary of the release of Ghostbusters.

It's also the 30th anniversary of the release of Pac-Man, and Google is celebrating by making their logo for today a Pac-Man game that you can play.

Yes, that's right, you can play the logo.

I fucking love living in the 21st century!

Anyhow, go fry the Sta-Puff Marshmallow Man, tell some kid whose hand you just cut off that you're his father, and gobble up tiny yellow dots in celebration........
