Got 1000 words written of Chapter 1 of Gryphon Precinct this weekend. It may not seem like much, but I also had to work out a bunch of things in the chapter, including some history of Cliff's End and the blocking of how things would work. Thinky thoughts still count as writing even if no words come immediately from it.
Now to bed....
I was introduced to DaVinci's Notebook, a Canadian humor band, by several different people independently in 2009 and have become a huge fan of theirs. They have lots of hilarious songs like "Title of the Song," "Window-Washing Cowboy," "Liposuctoin," "Internet Porn," and "Shoehorn with Teeth." But my favorite is this Latin-tinged dance number, "Jump in the Line." Play it and tap your toes!
The Project That Cannot Be Named (Yet). I'm actually hoping to get the green light to talk about this very soon. The manuscript is basically done, pending final approval from the licensor, and I expect to see the full book design this week. It's set to be published in the spring of 2014.
Gryphon Precinct. Working hard on this right now. Manuscript is due 15 August. Planning to have it out as a book from Dark Quest in December and as an audio from Audible in 2014.
RPG adventure. I've done the pitch for this RPG adventure, and it's been approved. Need to write a more detailed outline this or (more likely) next week, with the final manuscript due 15 August.
Movie novelization. Just waiting for the contract for this, the terms have been agreed to by me, the movie company, and my agent. Manuscript is due 1 October.
Essay. A piece for a book about a pop-culture phenomenon, due 1 October. No contract yet, so don't really want to talk in-depth about it yet.
Kickstarter project. This will be announced this week. Whether or not I write it will depend entirely upon whether or not it gets funded. :) (And yes, I've decided to stick with KS. Their apology was a good one, but more impressive was their donation of $25,000 to RAINN, which may actually do more good than that odious book will do harm.)
Mystery novel. Plan to do this in the final quarter of 2013.
Cassie Zukav short stories: "Down to the Waterline" and "I Have Heard the Mermaids Singing." The former I'm going to write on spec (it's a prequel to the stories that will appear in Ragnarok and Roll) and the latter is for an anthology that I hope to be able to talk about soon.
SCPD: Avenging Amethyst and Mermaid Precinct. Both of these should be written in 2014.
