Back in 2004, I wrote a very short story called "A Vampire and a Vampire Hunter Walk Into a Bar." It was originally written for a Van Helsing anthology edited by Jeanne Cavelos, but the story was not taken, deemed to light-hearted to fit in with the rest of the very heavy anthology. (After later reading the anthology, I totally agreed with Jeanne -- my story would've stuck out like a sore thumb.) However, the story was taken by the then-current iteration of Amazing Stories, and they published it in February 2005. It was later reprinted by The Town Drunk, and I put it in my short-story collection Without a License.
In addition, four years ago Gypsy Audio produced a short audio play of the story -- an easy adaptation, as the story is entirely dialogue -- produced and co-starring Alex Gilmour, and co-starring me, who also wrote it.
