irons in the fire update

Another month goes by....................

The Adventures of Bram Gold. Work proceeds apace on A Furnace Sealed. That's my main project right now.

Orphan Black. Confidential Clone Report is 99% done. I have to revise a couple things and with luck we'll finally be able to put this to bed. It's only taken so long because we've been waiting on the scripts for season five (which is being filmed right now). We only just got the last two episodes. Just FYI, this season is going to be amazing.....

Other tie-in project. I'm doing another book for Insight Editions that ties into another property, but I can't say what yet. I'm in the early stages of that.

Stargate SG-1. I'll be doing a short story for Fandemonium's next Stargate anthology, and just like my last one, it's going to focus on Carter and Teal'c. Unlike the last one, it's a post-finale story, with Carter in command of the George Hammond. The story will be called "Sun-Breaker." I'm also in very preliminary talks about a new novel, but we're not past the stage where I say, "hey, I'd like to do another novel."

Dragon Precinct. Both "Baker's Dozen" and Mermaid Precinct remain on the TBW pile.

Cassie Zukav. Still waiting for editorial notes on "Behind the Wheel" for TV Gods: Summer Programming. No other Cassie stories on the immediate docket, though I have lots more stories to tell of everyone's favorite weirdness magnet.

Star Trek: Prometheus. I'm in the midst of editing the translation of Book 3 of this German-language Trek trilogy.

Tor.com. I'm continuing the Star Trek and Batman rewatches, and I'm also talking about a bunch of other things I'll be writing about for the site. Rest assured that, after these two rewatches are done, I won't be done writing about pop-culture niftiness for the site......

Shirley and Jack. The first Shirley Holmes/Jack Watson story, "Identity," is out this month in Baker Street Irregulars. The second, "The Six Red Dragons," has been turned in to Michael Ventrella and Jonathan Maberry for Volume 2 of BSI. And I have many ideas for more stories.....

Other short stories. I've also got short stories coming out this year in Aliens: Bug Hunt, Nights of the Living Dead, Joe Ledger: Unstoppable, Never Fear: The Apocalypse (in collaboration with Munish K. Batra, MD), and The Best of Bad-Ass Faeries.

That's probably everything..............................

Holy Rewatch Batman! "Nora Clavicle and the Ladies' Crime Club"

It's the nadir of Batman 66 as we get a perfect storm of horribly offensive, disgustingly misogynistic, and just plain bad. The Bat-rewatch endures "Nora Clavicle and the Ladies' Crime Club."

An excerpt:
Linseed later explains to Bruce that his wife refused to cook or clean or wash his shirts until he appointed Clavicle to be commissioner. He laments that he’s worn the same shirt for weeks and hasn’t had a decent meal in months. (Clavicle’s platform is that women can run Gotham better than men, and if the mayor doesn’t know how to operate a washing machine or get his staff to provide him with clean clothes and food, you can kinda see her point...)
