Another quote from Facebook, this one from my buddy Jay Smith (dr_p_venkman):

"...terrorists do not meet in a hideout with a sign on the door that says HIDEOUT. They meet on campuses and at Starbucks and in christian community centers and at public parks. They shop at Walgreens and get their cars fixed at Pep Boys. And they learn to fly in our flight schools."

I can't argue with that. I think emotionally, people still have a hard time coming to grips with what happened on 9/11 and this is fueling their fears; however - they need to understand that there is a freedom of Religion and that if the people of New York (local area) are okay with it, they need to STFU because it's not their business.

Then if you KNOW that the guy(s) in charge are freaking terrorist supportist why in tarnation do you deign to support it?

And there is TONS of evidence showing they do/are... as well as their direct post 9-11 commentary from their OWN LIPS that showed they are not upset at all about the 9-11.
And you know I am not a big 9-11 weepy whiner.

I dunno, that (your last point) sounds like crazy liberal left-wing democrat BS to me...

Which is to say, I've been making that point a lot recently... People don't get it. They hear "Your rights end where mine begin" and they want to say "What about my right not to hear about your rights?"

To which I respond, at my wit's end, "There are plenty of places you could live which would be just thrilled to stifle dissenting viewpoints. Go there."

Whether it is right or not is not the point. I will agree they have the right. I also feel they are fools and not really looking for comunity get alonging becasue of this.

Just as the idiot KKK'ers are not into anything good if they did any of the above in their own aspect.

Cite your sources or note specifics for the 'Tons of evidence'. Otherwise it's just like 'I heard some rumor that he's a bad guy'. As far as i can find, he has consistently denounced terrorism, and violence committed in the name of religion.

I've been watching this closely and I've seen a lot of cherry picking of parts and phrases of what this imam has said and not his whole phrasing. I've seen things titled 'Imam Raul blames the US for 9-11' and then get down into the original commentary and find that he said some of the US middle east policies over the 70s and 80s (like arming militants in Afghanistan against the USSR) caused the cultural issues that lead to things like 9-11, which is something that most historians believe anyway, and not the same thing as 'blaming the US for 9-11'.

The man is a Sufi. He's a muslim who emigrated to the US from Kuwait in his teens, and has always lived in the NYC area. He went to Columbia, and is a physicist. He's been the imam of a mosque 11 blocks from the WTC site since 1983, a very liberal mosque, with a congregation that encompasses asian, middle eastern, african and american muslims. He has a history of interfaith dialogue, and he did denounce the attacks right after 9-11 as not being 'Islam'. WOW Sounds so very extremist, doesn't he?

I did my own research you do your own. You obviously ignored a lot.

Either way the proof will be in the pudding. Simple as that.

Sorry for the delay. I have limited access to this.

Its from many tings I have read, seen and heard since 9-11. No i dont keep all my sources. But I do remember. So no I cant and wont show you them becasue its just not possible. And I simply dont have the time nor energy to do it all againt for you people.

I personally listeend to the Imamas whole speech once. So I wasnt listeneing to cherry picked parts.

Its coming down to you beleive what you will.. as will I. Hey.. no one thought all those Russian spies were spies either. They were all such good and nice people....

And it will all come out the wash.. and in that end we will see whose right or not.

I, Personally, will err on the side of caution. You do not have to.

As I recall, the Sufi are roughly - the approximation is likely not a perfect fit - the Muslim version of the Quaker movement? Yes?

People have been asking, repeatedly, for you to cite your evidence.

So... Cite your evidence or shut-up. Or is all you have rumors from hate mongers, a few chain e-mails, and the rantings of Fox News?
ladyariadne From: ladyariadne Date: August 20th, 2010 08:30 am (UTC) (Link)
And all you have are your own rumors.

As I told the other people.. DO YOUR OWN WORK. I did my own, and dont have the time to do it for you. Someone else posted something and you all just went nyah nyah thats not good enough.

So i still say shame on you all. I reserve my right to say i told you so. And you can do the same.
ladyariadne From: ladyariadne Date: September 1st, 2010 02:25 am (UTC) (Link)
Hey you all cite free speech so theres mine.

Be an equal oppertunity free speech supporter..

Either way, I dont have time nor access to go redo all I have seen heard and such since 9-11.. Beleive what you want.

In retrospect, mowing my lawn so that my fellow Fifth Columnists can see SUPER SEEKRIT HIDEYOUT from their black helicopters may have been a mistake.
