Monday music: "Strange Face of Love"

One of my favorite action movies is Robert Rodriguez's 1995 film Desperado, his combination sequel/do-over to El Mariachi. One of the hallmarks of Rodriguez's films is excellent music, and in Desperado that was mainly due to the presence of the great Latin bands Los Lobos and Tito & Tarantula. The latter group isn't anywhere near as famous as the former, but they're still pretty kickass. Frontman Tito Larriva also played a small role in the movie (among other things, he got to shoot Quentin Tarantino in the face), and the band also appeared both onscreen and as part of the soundtrack for Rodriguez and Tarantino's collaboration From Dusk Till Dawn.

Anyhow, T&T's best song on the soundtrack is "Strange Face of Love," which just kicks sixteen kinds of ass, and I stumbled across this magnificent live version from 2008. Thirteen years on, the song still kicks sixteen kinds of ass.......
