a review of Q & A from back when it came out.....
Somehow I missed this -- a review by Ian Mond, a.k.a. "Mondyboy," of my Star Trek: The Next Generation novel Q & A from shortly after the novel came out in 2007.

Money quote:
This is the Q we know and love and he’s being his old impish self. At the same time there’s something BIG going on. What makes it all cleverer is that Keith somehow (and I’m still not sure how) ties in all of Q’s previous appearances (and I do mean all… I’m sure he also references other Q books and comics, and probably playing cards, fan fiction, musing from mates and something he heard someone say at a bus stop one day) in this book. And it’s bloody clever.

That's pretty much exactly how I describe it to my friends when they're looking for something Trek to read (and also in my LJ post from a couple years ago where I boosted your signal about needing some sales to cover unexpected bills). You did the damn-near impossible—you made Q likeable! SYMPATHETIC, even! It is a feat that almost redeems the sheer banality of the character's creation in the first place.

From that post (http://ebenbrooks.livejournal.com/547264.html):
Q&A is one of my particular favorites, because it actually ties together ALL of Q's appearances throughout TNG, DS9, and Voyager—and makes Q a sympathetic character to boot! (Don't get me wrong: he's still an asshole, just not quite as random and capricious an asshole as previously thought.)
